The September/October CSSHL Female Alumna Player of the Month is former Okanagan Hockey Academy and RHA Kelowna student-athlete Danica Maynard.
The CSSHL All-Time Female leader in career assists with 108, Maynard joined Penn State University for the 2025/26 season. In 12 games the freshman sits second among all NCAA defensemen with 11 assists and 14 points in 12 games.
Prior to her NCAA career, Maynard spent five season in the CSSHL with OHA and RHA Kelowna. The Osoyoos, BC product joined OHA Black for the 2020/21 Female U18 Prep campaign, tallying three points in six games. She would split the following Female U18 Prep season between OHA Black and OHA, finishing the season with 34 points in 29 games. During the 2022/23 season with OHA she recorded 6 goals and 21 assists in 29 games.
In 2023/24 she would join the RHA Kelowna Female U18 Prep team, producing 46 points in 30 regular season games while helping the team win the 2024 CSSHL Female U18 Prep Western Championship.
This past season she would add 10 goals and 36 assists, a CSSHL Female U18 Prep Top Defenseman Award and CSSHL (BC Division) First Team All-Star to her impressive resume, while winning her second straight CSSHL Female U18 Prep Western Championship
